How
do you choose a quality instrument that is the
right one for your child? Here are a few
words of experience.
Insisting
that your child play an instrument that you already
have can be a disaster if it is not the
instrument he or she wants to play. If the
interest is not there it may be a struggle to
get them to practice. We suggest
that you rent for awhile and then trade in your
old instrument on the one they really want to
play. You can find out more about the
different types of instruments and the sounds
they make on our
Percussion,
Woodwinds,
Brass, and
Strings web pages.

Musical
instruments are specialty items not unlike a set
of good golf clubs. A music store that
specializes in school band instruments can
better answer your questions on which brands are
acceptable in your child's band program.
To help you research the various brands click on
the type of instrument you are interested in to
find out more.
Whether an
instrument is used or new, Wert Music can offer
our opinion on the benefits of certain
manufacturers over others. Remember, if
there are general repairs and parts needed after
the purchase, it's a music store that will
answer that need. We are not going to recommend
anything that we cannot easily fix. We
want your child to succeed as much as you do.
If your child
is undecided about which instrument to play,
feel free to stop by our store to try out our
numerous demo instruments. Wert Music has
over three decades of experience in renting,
selling, and servicing school band instruments
and we are here to answer your questions. |
